Whose child is this?!?!

And as mentioned below, I have a wild and crazy child, who, when sleepy, cannot control herself. At least that's what I keep telling myself to make me feel better about her spaz-outs like this one when she's been up way too long! There was another one where I believe I lost a good amount of hair, though I have some to spare, so I think I'll be alright!

Rounding out the weekend...

We will never EVER get enough of this little (and big) smile!

In honor of Memorial Day, and the opening of the pool (yay!) we - well, Kate and daddy - enjoyed a short swim. We were cut short by rain. Katelyn couldn't have cared one bit, she had fun despite the weather. Such a little fish!

Another D.C. visit...

Kate already knows how to get the most out of your morning cereal!
Then we proceeded south to D.C. by train to get to the National Zoo for another visit - this time with a healthy Kate...she loved the train!
Having somehow taken zero zoo pictures, we now give you Katelyn the super-fan! She was so excited to be so high (we were in the upper-most row of the stadium at Nationals Park) and with all the commotion of the game, the music, everything thrilled her!

She clapped...
She oohed...
And she even heckled! It was a good night at the ballpark!

We couldn't help but post this funny video. Classic Kate drama! [sorry Ev!]

Zoo fun...

Kate got a call from her monkey friends at the zoo to come by and visit, so we did! :o)

It was so sweet watching Kate settle in on her Grandad's shoulders and check out the animals. She doesn't last long on our shoulders without tearing at our scalps for some reason (hence, the video in a later post)...

Just truckin' along...

And we can't possibly leave without a swing at the playground...

And here's a cute clip of Katelyn trying to feed some cute little chipmunks.

She's a country girl!

So we were in good ol' Delaware a couple weekends ago, and when we stopped in to say hi to Grandmom and Grandad at the farm one morning, we tested Kate's, um, tolerance, for things like dirt, worms, a turtle, and the big tractor! At first, she was totally disagreeable to bare feet in the soft dirt, and she was not at all dressed for the activity, but we all went with it, and after a huge meltdown on her first tractor trip, she was a total farm girl! She was even helping Grandmom plant melons! It was hilarious, and I am a complete dummy for not having our camera with us, so these pics are at the end of our fun.

Family Time!

What a cute little trio!
This picture is too touching for words. It should probably stand alone!

And then there's her wild side! Kate saw a seat, and felt the need to sit in it, and master the straps, despite it being a baby seat/car seat/Cousin Evan's seat!

Grandmom and dad Judy sure love their grandkids! But they've got their hands full when more than one is around!

Hungry monkey...

Daddy, another picture, really? The poor girl can't even eat in peace!

At around 18 months, every parent sees their child begin to emulate a monkey. Ours is no different, and lucky for us, we bought (aka "registered for" - thanks Uncle Tyler!) a perfect climbing apparatus in the wooden high chair above. Unfortunately, the camera battery cuts this a bit short, so you can't see her triumphant smile!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

I hope you all enjoyed your day!!

Mother's Day picnic!

One of our favorite things to do lately is pack a little picnic and head to a local park, cook up a good lunch on the grill, and let Kate run free in the massive space there that we don't have at home. It was the perfect day for it today, it being Mother's Day and the sunshine FINALLY out around here!
Check out that "show us your teeth" grin on that little monkey!

And then things turned weird. Kate's begun to get into that lovely toddler phase of simply stopping and pulling down her pants. No matter there were hundreds of people also at the park today! It's what she felt like doing. At least this was in front of our picnic; only minutes later on our way out, she dropped her drawers in front of someone else's pavilion. Thank goodness she's a minor, I'm sure that's not a crime...yet. Right?

Weekend fun...

Three generations of ladies on Mother's Day weekend...

For much of the end of Nana and Papou's visit, Kate was down to her diaper (it was a tad steamy in our apartment from the warm weather!), and she planted a good tackle on Nana at one point! I think that was her way of saying, "Don't Go!"

Awww...

Still so cuddly when she's a sleepy girl!

A few of her favorite things...

So maybe it's because The Sound of Music is on TV tonight, but here are some of Katelyn's "favorite things" these days...

Sorting, organizing, rooting through any bag full of anything
Big green tractors/gators wherever they may be parked at Towson sports venues
And of course...eating, and making a big ol' mess of it!
[The bigger version of this picture has spaghettie sauce and chicken wing remnants smeared all over her little face!]
