Katelyn is doing really well playing by herself, reading books and doing her puzzles. It's really fun when we catch her being so quiet and content by herself, or singing a song with no one around. I got lucky one morning recently and caught her working diligently at a wooden puzzle.

Fall!
So some of you may be aware that Katelyn is a fan of America's Funniest Home Videos. Such a fan that she routinely shouts "Fall!" when we get home each day and settle into the living room. I tried to catch her excitement one night, and of course it's only a slight display of her normal emotions.

She's counting!
Of course right as I was grabbing the camera, she included the #3, but more or less, she's beginning to get the "counting" concept! (Thanks Aunt Heather for the "pennies" game!)
She's one busy toddler...

A few more faves...
A few more cute pics from our weekend away. Kate and Heather were best buds on the trip, and Kate's learning her makeup tips from Heather because Mommy doesn't know anything about those things! Very cute interaction...
I can't believe I missed this one before, I love this one of Jess and Kate on the helicopter ride at Rehoboth!
Our "lonely only" child must share her ride seat with her ticket instead of a friend or sibling!
And finally, just a cutie sittin' on the couch eating some "Oh-Oh's" as she likes to call them!

All good things must come to an end...
Vacation is over (boo), but once we returned from Ocean City, Uncle Tyler met us in Towson to help Heather watch Kate for the day. Then we all went out to dinner, meeting up with one of Uncle Tyler's National Guard basic training buddies and his family. By the end of the night, Kate was in love with the little boy Gavin! He's 8, so Daddy was not happy about her going for the older boys, but holding hands was okay for a few minutes!
At the very top is a pic of Katelyn from this morning. I turned on Playhouse Disney while I made breakfast, and apparently she's been watching Daddy's TV-watching pose too long! What a lazy-pants!
O.C. Fun!
Splish Splash!
Feeding the duckies on the dock!
Ev's trying to steal Uncle Jesse's lunch, but he's just so darn cute!
There was a cool mini golf course right across the street from our place, and Kate took some lessons from her Uncle Josh since he's such a good golfer!
Ewwww!!
Really? My daughter already knows how to "text"?? What has the world come to...
Bike ride on the boardwalk!
Unfortunately, the kiddie slides were not made for adult butts!
We stopped at Frontier Town on our way to Assateague, and Kate earned a badge for ... just being there!
Aunt Heather purchased a funny little hermit crab with a Ninja Turtle shell. We named him "Taffy" in honor of one of the best places in O.C. - the Candy Kitchen! - and Kate had a ball with the little guy. Unfortunately, he was a present for Uncle Tyler, who wasn't as big a fan...poor Taffy.
Hello again Rehoboth!
Made another trip to Delaware before a final summer vacation in Ocean City, and boy did Kate enjoy herself! We spent another few hours at Lewes Beach to splash in the calm water and play in the sand. And of course we made another trip to Rehoboth Boardwalk for some games and ice cream!
We also got to spend some time with Josh, Kim, and Evan, as well as Grandmom and 'dad Judy. Ev is pleading to be rescued from his cousin's reach! She just can't leave the poor guy alone!
Kate was a bit more awake for the rides this time. However, since everything pretty much goes in a circle, it takes its toll (even on us bystanders watching them go round and round...) Kate made a buddy on the truck ride, and is being careful to check the traffic before making her move!
And we rounded out the evening with some yummy Kohr Bros. ice cream. Our little bearded dragon! And by the way, I won that creepy stuffed racoon on my lap with a sweet game of skee-ball!
