Play date!!

These are Jack's friends!!
Our hospital runs a support group for new moms, and I met 5 awesome girls and their cuties when Jack was 4 weeks old, and the group has been meeting at least once a week ever since. It's been hard as some of us have returned to work, others have been on vacation, or out of town. Last week, we were finally ALL together once again, and we took advantage of the photo op. Unfortunately, we didn't take a picture on Mother's Day, when we were last all together, to compare. In any case, they're so funny together, rolling all around, drooling and chewing on anything in their grasp. It's been nice having the group to bounce mommy things off of, and I truly hope we stick it out as we all continue to survive the babies' first year...
(I love this shot because my mom actually has a similar one from when I was a baby with her mommy group/babies)

Riley, Jack, Audrey, Xander, Reagan, and Nathaniel
Nice, Jack. Real nice.
Audrey is so over the paparazzi, and I think we were boring Xander!

And just because I know all mommies out there are like this when trying desperately to get your kiddos to smile, and because it's funny, I'm posting this video that I took while everyone else was trying to take pictures of the babies. It was pretty chaotic in our house, and it reeked of papparazzi!

Ella's Baptism

We joined Tyler and Heather for Ella's Baptism last weekend, and she was so adorable!
Cute family photo

Jack's 5 months old!

Summer fun...

Christmas in July anyone? Kate found her first Christmas outfit in a box of clothes I had out for Heather/Ella, and she thought Jack would look dashing in this Santa hat!
Aunt Fopper, Uncle Tyler, and Ella were in Baltimore a few weeks ago and we got to spend a few days with them. We enjoyed a nice cookout for dinner, then we broke out the fire pit for some s'mores!

Daddy teaching Kate the science of marshmallow toasting...
She understood that the fire was dangerous but she was a wee bit far to actually toast her marshmallow so Daddy ended up sitting her in his lap to move the process along...
And because it was such a nice night (this was WEEKS ago, when we weren't melting every day), Kate camped out back with Daddy in our little tent! She made it the whole night and they enjoyed their night together, snuggling, reading books, playing with the flashlight and doing shadow puppets...
Still sound asleep when I was leaving for work in the morning!
Our happy little boy on his changing table, playing with those feet!
Supreme focus by both parties...
And Kate's focus is actually on wrapping Jack's 5-month-old birthday present. She was VERY excited that he hit this milestone for some reason, and wrapped two of his toys for him, made him a card, and sang to him!
We headed out to one of the local outdoor concerts a couple weeks ago, and Jack and Kate both really enjoyed the fresh air, the good tunes, and hanging with BOTH Mommy and Daddy for a change...

Jack's well on his way to learning to crawl, and gets around pretty well by doing this scooting with his knees. It's gotten even more advanced in just a couple weeks from when this was taken...oh boy, we sure will have our hands full soon!

And this is one of the more disgusting videos I've posted, more for the sound that this slimy little prune-covered boy makes by grabbing for his foot while eating his dinner. All this, just so the poor guy could poop!

Good times at the pool...

We are fortunate to still have some good friends/old neighbors at our old apartments, and we've been able to visit the pool there a few times.
Unfortunately, they do not allow tubes or floaties of any sort, so Daddy's neck and shoulders get quite a workout with our little fish!
Thankfully, Miss Mary doesn't mind hanging out in the hot weather to lend a hand with the kids as well, and Jack appreciated a new lap to sit in for awhile!
Alas! Our little girl has gotten her beautiful locks trimmed! They were REALLY ratty lately, what with all the swimming and sweating, and well, Daddy-watching-her-so-hair-goes-unbrushed-regularly :o) so we both decided it was time for a cut. Mommy and Kate went together for a girls' morning out. Kate did awesome. She was able to sit and watch me for a little while, then her Turkish stylist (oh yeah, this wasn't any ol' Kids Kuts, we hit the salon for her mane, haha!) went to town, setting her up on a booster seat and using the blow dryer and everything! It looked so nice afterwards and she was very excited about it. Ironically we hit the pool just hours later, so the 'do didn't last, but she sure was pretty!

Oh, and she got a new two-piece suit (the back-ups from last year were just WAY too snug so we splurged on a sale at Target!) and I think she is trying to show off her new suit in this picture rather than her hair!

Got a few minutes? Time for some pictures!

We've been busy, mostly just getting through our normal days around here.
Here's a bunch of recent pictures to keep you busy for awhile too!

This Pooh Bear was actually a gift before Kate was born. As stuffed animals go, it was only slightly played with, then stashed away. We pulled it out when Jack was pretty little, to occupy him while we were watching a movie or something, and it was an instant hit. He especially likes Pooh's tiny little ears as a chewy pasttime!
Daddy's lil guy...
Mommy's snuggle bear...
Jesse tries to send me picture messages on my phone pretty regularly on days when I'm out the door before the kiddos are up. Usually it's a variation on the picture below, silly faces and all...
We recently had Kate's buddy over to play. Jack had a ball watching Kate and Brenley!

And on Brenley's way out, Kate insisted she go wave goodbye to them. Unfortunately, they had just stripped down out of their swim suits after a dip in the pool, and Kate found her princess heels, complete with blue fir.... I sincerely hope this isn't a sign of her future! God knows what the neighbors must think!
Dinnertime for Jackson!
I knew it was coming, but the poor kid can't even defend himself yet! Kate insists Jack "plays" with her toys, including Barbie of all things. Like how well he fits into her baby doll stroller?
Cuddles from big sis...
Jack's sitting up pretty well with support, and continues to last longer and longer before toppling over on his own. However, I think the humorous thing about this picture is the fact that probably a second later he was face down on the couch!
We visited Nana and Papou last week for a sleepover, and enjoyed a dip in their pool. They have a cool star shaped innertube that is perfect for Kate and she just buzzed around and around in there for awhile!
Nana Fo was pushing Jack in the swing, and got a bit distracted with Kate asking for her attention. I looked over to see him going pretty fast, and looking quite dismayed. The smushed face is priceless...
Nana's morning buddies...
So way back when Kate was Jack's age, my friend Allison visited from Michigan with her daughter Riley. Allison had Riley 5 days after I had Kate, and we've attempted to keep up with visits whenever they're back in PA. Allison and I now both have little boys as well, hers born on Easter, just slightly younger than Jack. So here is a pic of the first meeting of our girls, one of our boys, and then one of all four of them. The girls got along SO WELL I think it surprised both of us - I actually walked in to the room where they were playing (too quietly) and they were taking turns doing a puzzle - I doubt either of them are so perfectly behaved at daycare, but it was pretty awesome to see! The boys on the other hand did a lot more sleeping and their interaction was minimal :o)

Then further into July 4th weekend we were able to visit with some of the Judy fam in Wilmington. The kids were super excited to use the swing Uncle Jared put up in a tree in their yard - well, the girls were excited, Jack seems not to care so much!
The girls, in matching outfits, enjoyed chasing each other around like they do on most visits!

When Mommy and Daddy are busy with yard-work, Kate's usually pretty good about keeping herself busy on her swing set or sand box... Jack can hang for awhile in his walker outside. When the yard work goes on and on, Kate keeps Jack company and tells him stories out in the yard. It's pretty cute. Here, they keep out of the way of Daddy mowing and enjoy the nice evening together!
Kate enjoys her books so much, that she loves to treat Jack to a good story every now and then. She knows many of her books very well by heart, and Jack just loves to hang out with her in her room...
Feeding the ducks again at the Inner Harbor...
And I guess my little boy likes to be the scantily clad lad as well! He's happiest after his bath when he can roll around in his birthday suit!
A funny little pose after toppling over on the couch recently...
We hit the Towson parade on July 4th, as it's just up the road from our house. Kate enjoyed grabbing some candy as the groups marched past, and danced to some of the many bands that went by...

Jack enjoyed the parade from his luxury box view in Mommy's sling, then proceeded to fall asleep there despite the marching bands' loud music throughout the parade...
Later in the day on the 4th, we visited a friends' party, and basically stayed in the pool the entire time. Kate is an insatiable swimmer. However, she was pouty when we put her in a life-jacket to give her a break from the princess innertube she used most of the day. She's not a fan!
When we FINALLY convinced her she needed to get out of the pool and eat something, we had a little picnic and played some horse shoes...
Then the little miss was VERY sleepy and was giving us some 'tude before we headed home for the evening...
Back at home a few days later, we enjoyed our own little pool on the deck, and Jack lounged in his brand new baby raft...
I love when I hear him wake up happy from his naps and find him peeking over the crib at us when we walk in!
Testing out the sippy cup after a yummy dinner of rice cereal and green beans....mmmmm

Jack's giving the Johnny Jumper a whirl lately and enjoying it for the most part.

Weekends for us regularly include a trip to Panera for coffee and bagels and a little coloring...
My boys hangin on the couch...
