Last Christmas post...promise!

We were off to PA for a visit a few days after Christmas, where Kate and Nana could share their bagel breakfast...
And Jack met Deuce....

Kate was pretty excited about a 2nd Christmas morning...
Woo hoo! Look at those muscles!
Some new rain boots...
Kitchen food for her bakery...
and brother love (he looks to be enjoying himself, no?)

such a boy...

While in PA, we were able to catch up with the Reinhart clan and the kids enjoyed playing together. Even when "playing" meant all of them - except Jack - sitting smushed on the same couch together playing their various electronic devices!
And I'm not sure what this is, if not an attempt by Jack at flashing some pecs for us, but he kept doing it that night!
We got a good game of Old Maid going a bit later with the girls... well, I lied, it was actually an awful game! Kate didn't know how to play very well, Paige kept giggling at her, Brooke was so bored by how slow we were going and Jesse was about to throw the cards in the trash to stop playing... FUN!

The aftermath of a long holiday break... Not a care in the world at her appearance while she slept!

Yes, another Christmas post!

Christmas continued with a Judy visit...
Even Christmas dinner was awesome. We did the typical turkey dinner, with a nice grass-fed turkey...and everything else out of a box! So easy! :o) Jack was asleep before dinner time, so we were able to enjoy a really relaxing quiet dinner with Kate telling her own little stories and hanging out with Mom-Mom and Dad-Dad..

Post-dinner we all worked diligently at this 4' floor puzzle...
Dessert!
The next day, more Judy's came to Towson, and we spent another afternoon at another park... Leah especially liked the twisty slide!
And Jack mostly enjoyed eating a pinecone and falling in the mulch!
Later we took a stroll down the street to the mall train garden which the kids loved...
the girls...
plus a Dad-Dad!
Kids table for dinner!
And commence chow time!

Merry Christmas!!

So.... I do realize that we're just about 2 months removed from Christmas Day. However, I'm pretty sure our family has been swept into some time-warp where everything is on fast forward at all times, and already we're nearly welcoming MARCH. Yes, I've let nearly 2 months go by without blog updates, I haven't updated my Facebook page but once or twice, I have a new office, Jesse's been to Florida and back, Jack's turned one, and Kate's hair just about touches her bottom because we STILL haven't taken a minute to stop and get a haircut appointment for the poor girl! Whew!!

I must say that I was worried about the holiday break having both kids home the entire time, ONLY because they are entertained all day every day at their school/daycare, and sometimes cabin fever can set in VERY quickly when Mommy and Daddy don't quite cut the mustard in terms of entertainment hosts! But, Christmas.was.awesome!

The kids woke up at a decent hour (meaning Jack got up once overnight but slept until about 6am or so, and woke happily, which does NOT happen often) and everyone was just happy to chill out - at home - and it was a beautiful day, and just plain awesome.

Kate on Xmas Eve a little excited before settling in for bed (although she asked for her door to be closed that night because she didn't want to see Santa Claus "do I?" it was very cute...
Santa's elves were up very late working downstairs on Kate's new bakery. I thought something magical was supposed to happen, but there were, unfortunately, many tools and pieces involved in the process (and therefore, several glasses of wine...okay, and a few choice words every now and then)...silly elves!
But it was all worth it when the little people woke and thought this tree with these presents was the BEST THING EVER!
Jack's big gift was this Cars riding toy, and he toddled out that morning, walked right up to it, and stood here like this for a good 20 minutes enjoying the sounds the buttons make. And no, his expression never quite changed to convince you he was enjoying himself, but I'm guessing he was pleased!
Daddy got a Star Wars coloring book from Kate, so she didn't have to share hers at Panera on weekend mornings!
Before we even got downstairs, Kate got her princess guitar and she was psyched! Now if only we knew how to teach her to play....
Finally made it downstairs and boy, was Kate ever excited! Can you tell, she baked us some cookies lickety split!
Jack went down for a nice little nap in the morning, allowing us to hang with Kate and enjoy some of her big-girl presents without distraction, like this princess puzzle...
Then, with everyone awake, and the sun shining outside, we took a short trip up the road to a local park with this turf field to try out the new Aerobie frisbee. Kate LOVED it, and we had a ball trying to throw it around for awhile...
Even Jack gave it a whirl...
But alas, it got a little tiresome toddling around and getting tripped up by the turf monster, so we moved on to the playground instead!
