Still catching up! MAY...

These kids love walks, especially when we end up at the mall down the street where the fountain and toy store are...

Kate's gymnastics classes ended in May, and she talks about them all the time, practicing things she learned, and asking when she can go back. Here are her and Brenley waiting patiently for the teacher to begin their warmup...

Graduation certificate! They bring this blown up tiger instead of the mascot now, because too many kids either freaked out when they brought the tiger to previous sessions, or just didn't show up at all for the last class because of the tiger... those mascots are serious scare-masters!

I got just as excited about Jack's first mohawk as I did about Kate's first pair of pigtails!
 Pre-bedtime snuggles!
So Kate's annual spring picnic occurred at lunch time one day at school, which always throws us working parents a curve ball... do we take our kids home and miss the rest of the day, or send them back, possibly in tears, to their teachers and cross our fingers they don't have a meltdown when they see their friends going home with mommy and daddy... Fortunately, I have the luxury of working right across the street from her school, so I decided, now that I have an office, she could hang out with me for a few hours. She did well, coloring and playing on her own while I finished up some things. Then, once I cleaned up some crusty stink bugs from the floor, I was able to convince her to cuddle up for a nap! I couldn't believe she actually fell asleep!
We went into town for the Towsontown Festival early last month. It's sad that the petting zoo sets up shop in the middle of a vacant blacktop parking lot, but Jack loved watching feeding time just the same...

And then we walked and walked, taking in the sights and picking up free goodies. For some reason, I felt compelled to step up to the pushup challenge at one of the tents because the women's score was 6. I was able to do 23 suspended ones! I couldn't convince Jesse to try his hand at beating the 64 or something ridiculous that some guy had done earlier!
And then the kids got to try their hand at working out! Jesse and I have been doing CrossFit based workouts of late, and knew some people who qualified for the Regional Games not far from us in Baltimore, so we went down to watch. It was pretty impressive! They have sponsor tents around the arena, so the kids were intrigued to get a few sets of kettle-bell dead lifts in while they were waiting around! Kate was quite serious about her reps, even chalking up her hands and everything! We were so proud!
The only thing Jack's great at lifting though is his spoon! He's been getting better at feeding himself, and usually is way more into eating if you let him do it that way.
Rockin' the hat and running off some energy before bedtime. Just give the kid a ball or balloon and he's set for awhile!
Sayyyyy BLUEBERRIES!!!
(somewhat) Patiently waiting for Nana to arrive one weekend...
We have this pool on the deck, and Kate usually loves to go in the pool despite the temperature. This particular day, she was content to just walk around the outside of it and reach for toys that Jack was throwing in. Jesse thought it would be funny to trip her up so she fell in or got soaking wet, or whatever happened. Initial reaction - NOT HAPPY
10 seconds later when we took off her wet clothes - SUPER HAPPY NAKED GIRL (kids...)

 15 month check-up!
24 lbs - 31 inches
We padded the stats with a full diaper and a snack :o)
 My silly boys...
Date nights for us are when we have work functions! Like our end of year athletics banquet...
But we also get out to do some mountain biking together. This is after my first experience, head to toe dirty, but I survived!

Always so proud of her crafts. We made a card for my friend Ashley and Kate taught me how to make tissue paper flowers that she learned at school!
So one day the Orioles had a noon game and we decided last minute to try to go with Jack...didn't happen. We were there, but cheapest tickets were too expensive to just pop in, especially when we can get them for free if we think ahead and ask someone who works there! So we hung out near the park for awhile, letting Jack entertain us and many passers-by!
And stopped to compare our lil' golden arm to the real thing!

Monkey see...
 Monkey do!

In honor of Memorial Day and Mom-Mom and Dad-Dad's 40th anniversary (woo hoo!) we had the Judy clan over to our house. Silly goobers eating dinner together. This kids table is NOT going to hold this crew much longer!
Judy cousins (minus Gina's bun in the oven) watching some Kung Fu Panda to settle down before everyone headed home...
 Shake it for me!

When in Baltimore...take awesome shots of a real live Oriole when they perch in your own backyard tree! (kudos to Jess for this pic!)
 Our favorite gardners...
Planting flowers doesn't last long when there's a swing nearby!

 Snack time!

Clearly these are out of order (sorry!)... Kate and Ev taking a dip over Memorial Day
Mom-Mom and Jack sporting matching outfits!
 An intense movie moment...
Believe it or not, he's saying "Cheese!"
He makes a point to show as many teeth as possible with every smile! He always loves to get all snuggled up after his bath and sit on the stool in the bathroom while I get Kate out of the tub, so sweet...
This slide ain't made for big tushes Daddy!
Behind bars. Right where he belongs!
It's a wonder they didn't get stung digging around like that but they were perfectly content to...well, do whatever they were doing down there!

 Story time with Daddy...
Happy May! More updates to come...
