So it's been, what, FOREVER, since we posted something!! So sorry. And since we just had a holiday weekend full of activity, I thought it more appropriate that I start there, rather than back-tracking. Ya know, just in case anyone might still be keeping up with us on our blog! Thanks for checking in!
Yesterday was my friend Ashley's wedding. She asked Kate and I both to be in the wedding, so we were in Chesapeake Beach, MD all weekend to help celebrate. Part of my bridesmaid duties included helping the bride with her surprise groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner. She wanted cakes shaped like their dog Deoge. The first one looks a lot like him, the second one leaves a lot to be desired. But then, the in-laws already included a dessert with the menu, so alas, the cakes were not eaten.... I was thrilled *sarcasm*
Jack was running around the room with reckless abandon all night, until he saw Ashley, who he wanted to be with the. whole. time.
The bridal party stayed with the bride in her suite the night before the wedding, so Kate and I bunked up on an air mattress together. Aunt Gina's quilt was SUPER comfy...unfortunately, I seemed to forget it was made for a young child on a twin bed, and hadn't packed another, larger, blanket, so we played tug of war all night. She clearly won!
The skies showered down on us after the rehearsal dinner, but by morning, there was blue sky showing behind the clouds, and it ended up holding off much of the day until we began walking down the aisle, but stopped again as the bride came out.
Kate tried out the honeymoon jacuzzi tub early in the day before getting ready for her flower girl duties.
We did pictures before the ceremony, and figured we'd get one shot of our own so we had something to show off before the formal ones come back from the photographers.
No one really gets all that jazzed about the bouquet toss and garter thing anymore it seems, so everyone let a little boy grab the garter and Kate grabbed the bouquet and it ended there!
Okay, sorry, out of order due to pics coming from different sources...
Anyway, here's Kate showing off her empty basket before she even made it to the official "aisle"! She did a great job, and had everyone laughing with her silly faces and gestures. I was a proud mama!
And back to the reception, here's mommy and the bride...
And the bride and flower girl...
Yep, Jack was there too! He's attempting to give Daddy a serious look, despite daddy asking for his cheese face!
