October always provides some fun, with Halloween and Kate's birthday, and school festivities. This year Kate was a mermaid from Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Jack was a pirate. I actually made her mermaid tail which I enjoyed, especially when I found her jumping up and down on her bed the day after I made it and it wasn't tearing to pieces! They both had a ball trick-or-treating this year, though the parade at daycare was a disaster for Jack...
we took Nana to a nursing home in October....JUST FOR FUN!! one of the senior living homes near us had a fall bazaar and we took advantage of a beautiful day to enjoy some face painting, a petting zoo, and pony rides!
Aaaand, we met the newest member of the Judy g-babies, Anna Noel! She's a-mazing, and I too am convinced it's because she's a hypno-baby - Gina had her in a tub of water at a birthing center DRUG-FREE instead of in a hospital. I was so proud of her, and I'm impressed with how wonderful Anna is!
our annual scarecrow assembly at daycare! she's been wearing the same outfit since Kate was 2! we'll see how long the clothes last!
see how busy we were in October? he was pooped!
speaking of Judy grand-babies, here's Mom-Mom and Dad-Dad and the whole clan celebrating Mom-Mom's 60th birthday! Holy moly!
Little Judy girls...
And Jack started at the Towson Daycare in October at just 20 months! He has loved it since day one, which is below...
now big sis gets to share a hug during playground time almost every day and they both love it!
just giving the ladies a ride at Max and Colin's birthday party!
Kate and BFF Brenley get goofy at Kate's birthday party, where, right on schedule, we had (almost) terrible weather for the 3rd year in a row! We were able to get outside and let the kids run around and get their sillies out, but it's a little ridiculous that a nor'easter must arrive every year over the last weekend in October! C'mon global warming!
the 5-year-olds gave that pirate pinata all he could handle!
sack races, balloon races, and "seahorse" races took place out back. it was hilarious because we had only girls at the party and they didn't really, whether because of their age, or their gender, understand or appreciate trying to actually win the race or even make any haste towards the finish line. comedy for us parents for sure!
the sillies!!
i had a small treasure hunt for the girls too, and the last find was of course a chest of treasure, which everyone wanted to be sure to see!
um, Kate is five.... FIVE. where has the time gone? remember when i was good at this blogging thing? yeah, that was FIVE YEARS AGO, when she entered our lives and made us mommy and daddy!!
birthday breakfast? pumpkin bread!
oh, and the afore-mentioned disaster daycare parade....i don't even know why he was crying...most likely for no reason, that's his specialty!
