Catching up...April

April provided some pretty great weather and we spent a lot of time outdoors. Mommy oversees the tennis team at Towson, so she spent most of her outdoor time at the tennis courts. On a Saturday, when that outdoor time included not one, but two, long tennis matches, Daddy brought the kiddos to visit in between for snacks, kite flying, and bubbles...

After naps we headed over to Goucher College to have a family disc golf outing, which typically entails Mommy and Daddy playing, Jack sidling along in the stroller, and Kate going back and forth between wanting to practice her frisbee throwing, and whining about having to walk up a big hill...fun times!

But if they can hang long enough, the big prize is the see-saw!

Sometime in April, Kate stumbled upon her Valentine's from February that we had stashed away (for some reason)... it ended up entertaining both of them before school for quite some time.

Back outside to take advantage of the rocket ship!
 and the play house!

 Happy Easter!
The week leading up to Easter, I decided to come up with several crafts for Kate and I to do together. She LOVES arts and crafts time with Mommy. Day 1 was a pair of "Hoppy Easter" headbands for the occassion...

We started testing Jack in the forward-facing car seat when we just had him in the car, to see if he was ready for it. It was SO much easier for us, and he seemed to like it, so eventually we made it official...

Easter egg dying time! This was another "craft" for the week before Easter, one of Kate's absolute favorite times of the year. Thank goodness she also loves hard-boiled eggs!

And let the hunting begin! We were traveling over Easter, but I wanted the kids to find eggs in our yard, so we did a quick hunt before we left...
And of course we had to check out the loot before we went anywhere!
Then it was off to Mom-Mom and Dad-Dad's house for the weekend for more egg hunts and cousin craziness!

Jack was not well around and after Easter. I think he was teething with his molars at the time, and was super clingy and (extra) whiny, waking up earlier than normal (which is VERY sad, because "normal" is like 5:30am) and then falling asleep shortly after because he was still so tired and uncomfortable. One morning, I was sitting with him in the recliner dozing off myself, when he crawled out of my lap and ventured for the remote. He managed to turn the channel onto Animal Planet and there was a show about apes on at the time. He sort of zoned out to it for awhile, I fell asleep in the chair, and when I woke a little bit later, he was sacked out on the floor in front of the TV...it wasn't a great show!

Super excited to go out and help daddy wash the car...
Teaching lil bro about the hose...

This little guy LOVED the puddles (big surprise, he's a boy!)
Once again visiting Mommy at a tennis match, this time for a picnic...

 Where'd baby go?
 Peek-a-boo!
Jack LOVES walks in the stroller. If he's fussy, take him for a walk. If he woke up too early and people are still sleeping in the house, take him for a walk. You know, just in case any of you are baby-sitting, these are some tips - take him for a walk!! Often times, he doesn't fall asleep anymore because he's so enthralled by the sights and sounds around him, but then sometimes he just simply can't help himself and he crashes...a nice bottle of milk doesn't hurt either!
Then, when you're back from your walk, go wake up a sister!!

Bath buddies...
 Coloring buddies...

We went up to UD for Ag Day with the Judy clan, where Kate got her face painted, did some arts and crafts (oddly enough, the crown was something she decided to wear from home, she did not make it there!), pet some animals, and dance with Leah...
So, next to a walk in the stroller, Jack's next favorite thing is DOGS. He loves being around most animals, and is surprisingly gentle with them. There were a bunch of dogs at UD that day, and he was so sweet petting them. I'm not sure he would have left unless we dragged him away....
The crown just makes this height chart and cousin-comparison a little unfair!
The next day, we visited a park with Leah and Isaac, who thoroughly enjoyed the slide!
This is Kate acting really brave after (or perhaps before) getting really really scared about how high she was and worried about getting down...it was a really high fake rock wall for a playground!
 COUSINS!!!
 Balancin girl...

Back in Towson, we cheered hard for the women's lacrosse team to win the conference championship, which they did! And Kate shared a hug with her now-friend Doc the Tiger!

 All Sass. All the time.
So I guess we had yet ANOTHER hunt later in the month with Nana and Papou...why not? More treats!!
 Morning family cuddles...

Tot lot stroll with Mom Mom to end the month...
